Coaching Excellence
What is it
In the course of working or private life, it sometimes becomes necessary to deal with certain changes of some importance. These could be, for example, having new roles or managing unexpected situations due to force majeure. These are situations in which there is a need to develop new solutions, sometimes unpublished, to find the way to go and find new equilibriums.
According to experts, no one can do it on their own, all need a coach, which evokes “wisdom and magical power.”
Coaching Excellence, in fact, is art and science to facilitate change.
Science
Science refers to meticulous research of what prevents the coachee from reaching its goals. This is done through appropriate specific questions that reveal the real nature of the obstacles, thus allowing the coachee to overcome them to get closer to the desired state.
The Art
Coaching is also an art, in which many aspects (desires, expectations, etc.) are interwoven, whose resolution can take on the face of magical power.
And given the not always linear nature of change, it is necessary to feel the coachee in good hands as it does its course. Also, you need to find the stimulus to leave the old man to the new one.
Coaching is even more. Not only does it facilitate the achievement of goals, but above all allow the coachee to feel more in harmony with himself as he steps towards his goal. In this way, it increases its sense of self-realization and self-esteem.
Coaching is perhaps one of the oldest activities that take place within a group or community, and is definitely a significant way for a person to take care of another.
It addresses a wide range of people, not only in working life, but also in the private sphere.
The “Coaching Excellence, Art and Science” learning experience is divided into two parts:
First Part – Coaching Framework
Second Part – Enhancement Language.
First part
Coaching Framework
Contents
This first part is the framework in which coaching activity is performed.
The contents mainly concern the following three areas:
Hospitality
Welcoming is crucial because the coachee can separate itself from its current condition, leave the old to the new.
The availability and opening of the coach are important aspects that will allow the coachee to be comfortable. In this state of maximum confidence, you will feel more enthused to tell more aspects of your situation.
Exploration
This second aspect concerns the dialogue between coach and coachee.
Coaching can be described as an intersubjective activity, since neither party has the solution. This emerges from the interaction between them, an interaction based on precision questions that serve to unravel the plot of coachee’s reasoning.
Implementation
Once you get the information you need, the next step is the implementation of action plans and their monitoring.
The coach will facilitate the coachee to draw on its own resources, developing it instead of blindly following recipes that might be good for others, but not necessarily for him.
Also, make sure the plans are in line with the coachee values. The coach will also be in support of checking (monitoring) that the plans work well and, if necessary, intervene with corrections in case of impediments.
Second part
Enhancement Language
This second part involves the most authentic enhancement, and involves the internal resources of the person, resources that you are not always able to access with simple questions. This is because they inhabit the tip of the iceberg, that is, hidden in the labyrinths of the unconscious.
The coach will therefore also want to talk with this part, the unconscious, so that he can collaborate with the conscious, rational, to evoke the most effective solutions. The language is more articulate than the one with which it communicates with the conscious part, and the dialogue then takes shape gradually. This creates the conditions that allow the coachee to light up, and gear another gear.
It achieves its goals not only in a more relaxed way, but above all it will feel more motivated and more realistic.
Contents
The contents of this section mainly concern the following four areas:
Authenticity
Enter your most authentic part as a coach.
This allows the coach to be authentically in touch with his deepest core, that is, his mission, without trying to force the coachee.
In his clothes
Get deep in coachee.
Coaching seems to work better when the interpersonal relationship is of the highest quality. It is therefore necessary to encourage a kind of blending, an appropriate mix, which will allow the coach not so much to deduce, but to guess what happens in the mind of the coachee, and therefore to customize his interventions in a consistent manner.
Sponsorship
Sponsor the coachee, that is, allow him to realize his immense potential.
Our potential is often ignored or repressed due to many factors, one of which is the rhythm of life, which often does not allow us to take a look inside of us. The task of the coach is to facilitate this inner look. It is an approach that sponsors the coachee, which will return to feel more mature at the center of its potential rather than on its margins.
Conscious – Unconscious
Involve the unconscious to collaborate with the conscious to achieve the goals.
The heart, Pascal said, has its reasons why reason does not know. This refers to the unconscious, and therefore a specific approach is needed to give more focus to the inner sphere. This is through proper use of body, voice and language.
